Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be fingerprinted to volunteer in the classroom?

At Westlake, parent who are volunteering only in the classroom with a teacher do not need to be fingerprinted. If you wish to volunteer to chaperone trips or host a group of students in other location, please check in with the front office for fingerprinting forms.

Can I drop in to my kids' classroom if I have a free moment?

While we love to have families in our classrooms, please schedule a time to volunteer in advance. We recommend 24-48 hours advance notice to give everyone time to plan appropriately.

The teacher knows I'm coming. Can I just head right to the classroom?

For everyone's safety, we need all volunteers to check in at the front office first. Even if you volunteer daily, please follow this procedure.
